Hamburg Notation System

The Hamburg Sign Language Notation System, or HamNoSys, is a phonetic transcription system for sign languages, analogous to the IPA for spoken languages.[1] First developed in 1985 at the University of Hamburg, Germany, it is currently in its third revision.

Unlike SignWriting and the Stokoe notation, it is not intended as a practical writing system.
